Shared machines

It is possible for a machine to switch between production lines, depending on capacity.

For example, if there are two lines: Line A and Line B, with these identical line sections:

  • Line A: Cutting → Washing → Assembly → Palletizing
  • Line B: Cutting → Washing → Assembly → Palletizing

The final machine in the line is a palletizer, which puts the finished goods onto a pallet. In this scenario, there are three palletizers:

  • Palletizer 1: Dedicated to Line A
  • Palletizer 2: Dedicated to Line B
  • Palletizer 3: Can be part of Line A or Line B, depending on production volumes.

This means that there are three line sections across two lines: Line A, Line B, and Palletizer 3.
