Labor

Labor is one of the significant costs of manufacturing and it must be effectively managed. While the headcount per shift is typically planned, it is harder to track the actual deployment of labor throughout the facility on a shift-by- shift basis.

The Infor MES labor module enables labor requirements to be planned. This enables operators to sign on and off a production line or specific machine to track where labor hours have been spent.

The operator logged into the application is the operator that all transactions are recorded against, but other operators may also be working on the line. In this case, other operators do not need to log into MES, but must sign onto the production line to record that their working time.

The target labor hours are defined against the routing. If the incorrect number of operators are signed on, then MES alerts the operators.
