Ramp up

A ramp up is a period that represents when the setup period is completed, but the machines are still running slowly with some small adjustments while the operators increase the speed of the line.

If the production line is configured to record ramp up, a new ramp up period is started as soon as the setup period ends. Alternatively, if there is no setup period, as soon as the production run starts. The production line is then in ramp up mode until the ramp up period is closed.

The ramp up period can be configured to be closed in one of these ways:

  • Manually: Manually close the ramp up period from the dashboard.
  • Automatic OPC: An OPC signal closes the ramp up period.
  • Automatic Counter: MES detects a specific quantity has been produced. The threshold for the quantity is configurable.
  • Automatic Inventory: MES detects a specific quantity of inventory has been produced. The threshold for the quantity is configurable.
  • Automatic Speed: MES detects the actual cycle time exceeds a percentage of the target cycle time. The threshold for the percentage is configurable.

Production is started after the ramp up period is closed.
