Assistance types

Every machine stop reason also has an assistance type associated with it. It describes who is required to get the machine running again when it is stopped.

Infor MES provides these assistance types as a standard set:

  • Labor: Waiting on labor resources
  • Logistics: Waiting on materials
  • Maintenance: Waiting on maintenance engineers if, for example, there is a breakdown
  • Quality Approval: Waiting to get approval from the quality department if, for example, there has been a concession
  • Quality Concern: A quality concern has been raised, which requires the quality department to investigate
  • Setter: Waiting on a skilled setter to set up the machine
  • Supervisor Required: Waiting on supervisor
  • Tooling: Waiting on tooling to be provided or installed
Note: It is also possible to extend this list as master data, if additional assistance types are required.
