Shift patterns

A shift pattern is a set of shift sequences. The shift pattern is a template which represents one rotation of that shift pattern. Its single purpose is to let Infor MES know which future shifts to generate.

The duration of the shift pattern defines the time the length of time before the pattern repeats itself. Typically, this could be every one or two weeks.

Typically, each shift pattern uses unique crews, but it is also possible to use the same crew across multiple shift patterns.

The duration of the shift pattern must match the total duration of all shift sequences. This is the total amount of time before the pattern repeats itself.
