Line information

Line information, or Line Info, is a background process in Infor MES that sweeps the data collected across all machines and can quickly report complex KPIs, such as OEE, across many lines, aggregated at different hours, shifts, days, or weeks.

  • Availability%
  • Performance%
  • Quality%

These KPIs are dependent on the data captured for downtime, production counts, scrap, and inventory.

Even in a single shift, there can be many of these events. To improve efficiency, much of this data is aggregated in advance of the calculations being performed.

Recalculating line information

Edits to data outside of the current period can change the underlying data that line information records are generated from. MES automatically recalculates this information as part of the transaction, on the affected records only.

Here are some examples of changes that can affect the underlying data of the line information records:

  • Production counter quantity
  • Scrap counter quantity
  • Rework counter quantity
  • Downtime reason
  • Inventory pack is ignored

Purging line information

Edits to jobs data for the current period can also change the time boundaries of the records. MES automatically recalculates this information as part of the transaction, on the affected records only.

Here are some examples of changes to job data that can change the time boundaries:

  • Start date of a job
  • End date of a job
  • Deletion of a job
  • Insertion of a new job

These are all job corrections. When they happen, the records must be deleted (purged) and recreated using the new time boundaries. The KPIs then must be recalculated for the new timeframe.
