If your manufacturing process spans multiple production lines, but your ERP does not recognize the semi-finished material numbers after each production line, then the Inventory in Progress model is required.

There must be at least one job per line for the production order. When inventory is created on the first job, it is given the material number for the production order. However, the inventory still has future jobs that must be executed before it is the actual material for the production order. The remaining operations on the future jobs on the production order have not yet been executed.
