Variables

Variables are characteristics that can be measured and compared against specification limits. For example, diameter, length and weight are measurable characteristics.

To view and configure variables, navigate to Configuration > Quality > Variables.

You can use these options on the Variables screen:

• Add: Allows you to create a new variable.
• Edit: Allows you to modify the existing variables.
• Retire: Allows you to retire the existing variables. You cannot use retired variables in production.
• Inspections: Allows you to view inspections on which the variables are used.
• Specification Limits: Allows you to configure specification limits for the variables.
• Change Specification Set: Allows you to change the specification set to which the variables belong.
• Variable Tags: Allows you to view and configure variable tags for the variables.
