Materials

Materials represent the essential building blocks of manufacturing, containing the raw materials utilized within a process as well as the semi-finished and finished goods produced from manufacturing operations.

To view and configure materials, navigate to Configuration > Materials > Material Types > Materials.

You can use these options on the Materials screen:

  • Add: Allows you to create a new material.
  • Edit: Allows you to modify the existing materials.
  • Copy: Allows you to create a copy of the existing materials.
  • Delete: Allows you to delete the existing materials.
  • Retire: Allows you to retire the existing materials. You cannot use retired materials on new production orders, BOM items, inspections, etc. Retired materials can be excluded from reports unless included in the report’s filter options.
  • BOM Variant: Allows you to view and configure the bill of materials for the materials.
  • Specifications: Allows you to view the specifications associated with the materials.
  • Inspections: Allows you to view the inspections associated with the materials.
  • Routings: Allows you to view the routings associated with the materials.
  • Locations: Allows you to view the locations that have been restricted to contain the materials.
  • Referencing BOMs: Allows you to view the bill of materials that reference the materials.
  • Suppliers: Allows you to view and configure the suppliers that can supply the materials.
  • Compatible Materials: Allows you to view and configure the compatible materials for the materials.
  • Production Versions: Allows you to view and configure the production version for the materials.
  • Attachment: Allows you to attach a document to the materials.
  • Documents: Allows you to view and manage the documents linked to the materials.
  • Manage Image Map Set: Allows you to view and manage the image map set for the materials.
  • Attach Image: Allows you to attach an image to the materials.
