Tools

Tools are devices or implements used within a manufacturing process to carry out a particular function. Tools are typically reused and maintained throughout the life cycle. Tools must be uniquely identifiable by name or ID.

To view and configure tools, navigate to Configuration > Assets > Tool Types > Tools.

You can use these options on the Tools screen:

• Add: Allows you to create a new tool.
• Add-Multi: Allows you to create multiple new tools.
• Edit: Allows you to modify the existing tools.
• Delete: Allows you to delete the existing tools.
• Retire: Allows you to retire the existing tools. You cannot use retired tools in production.
• Sub Tools: Allows you to view and configure sub tools for the tools.
• Tool Cavities: Allows you to view and configure tool cavities for the tools.
• Change Reasons: Allows you to view and configure tool change reasons for the tools.
• Reasons: Allows you to view and configure cavity state reasons for the tools.
