Phases

Phases consist of sets of actions that can be included as part of an Operation Template. Phases represent the lowest level of detail used in workflows. A Phase consists of multiple actions that can be performed by a user or automatically. Ensure Phases are configured to be reusable in multiple Operation Templates.

To view and configure phases, navigate to Configuration > Workflow > Phases.

You can use these options on the Phases screen:

  • Add: Allows you to create a new phase.
  • Edit: Allows you to edit existing phases.
  • View: Allows you to view existing phases that are locked (used on approved routings).
  • Layout: Allows you to configure the actions, parameters, and transitions in the existing phases.
  • Delete: Allows you to delete existing phases.
  • Retire: Allows you to retire existing phases. Retired phases cannot be used in operation templates.
  • Copy: Allows you to copy an existing phase to create a new one.
  • Revise: Allows you to create a new revision of existing phases. Only released phases can be revised.
  • Validate: Allows you to verify the validity of an existing phase. For example, verifying all required transitions exist.
  • Actions: Allows you to view the actions used by a phase.
  • Transitions: Allows you to view the transitions configured for a phase.
  • Referrers: Allows you to view the operations that use a phase.
  • Export: Allows you to export existing phases to a JSON file.
  • Import: Allows you to import phases from JSON files.
