Routings

Routings define a sequence of one or more operations required to manufacture a material. This describes the series of operations required to transform input material into output material. Routings are assigned to production orders during the scheduling process, and once assigned, become locked. The routing must be revised before any changes can be made.

To view and configure routings, navigate to Configuration > Materials > Routings.

You can use these options on the Routings screen:

  • Add: Allows you to create a new routing.
  • Edit: Allows you to modify the existing routings. The data can be modified only for a revised routing.
  • Release: Allows you to approve the existing routings for use in production.
  • Revise: Allows you to create a new revision of the existing routings. The data can be revised only for a released routing.
  • Retire: Allows you to retire the existing routings. You cannot use retired routings in production.
