Mapping a machine stop reason to machine event OPC item

To record downtime using a Machine Event OPC Item, you must map Machine Stop Reasons to the corresponding Machine Events. A mapping must be added for the running state and least one mapping must added for a stopped state.

To map a machine stop reason to a machine event:

  1. Select Configuration > OPC > OPC Items. The OPC Items screen is displayed.
  2. Select a record and click Machine Stop Reasons. The Machine Stop Reasons window is displayed at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Click Add. The Add window is displayed.
  4. Specify this information:
    Code
    The OPC value received from the OPC server for the specified tag.
    Running
    If this check box is selected, the code means that the machine is running.
    Machine Stop Reason
    The stop reason code indicating why the machine is not running. This value must be set to Unknown if the PLC is not able to provide specific reasons.
  5. Click OK.
