Adding a unit

  1. Select Configuration > Materials > Units. The Units screen is displayed.
  2. Click Add. The Add window is displayed.
  3. Specify this information:
    Unit
    The name of the unit.
    Description
    The description of the unit.
    Grouping Property
    The type of measurement that the unit is categorized by. Possible values:
    • Unit is a measure of rate over time. Values with this unit cannot be summed, but can be averaged.
    • Unit is a measure of quantity. Values with this unit can be summed.
    • Unit is a measurement at a point in time. Values with this unit cannot be summed or averaged.
    Unit Type
    The type of the unit. Possible values:
    • None: This unit does not have a type.
    • Area: This unit tracks an area. For example, square meter, square foot, acre, or hectare.
    • Dimension: This unit tracks a dimension. For example, meter, inch, foot, or centimetre.
    • Item: This unit tracks an individual item. For example, piece, each or cycle.
    • Mass: This unit tracks a weight. For example, kilograms, grams, pounds, or ounces.
    • Power: This unit tracks a power. For example, watt, kilowatt, horsepower, or megawatt.
  4. Click OK.
