Inventory State Workflow

Inventory State Workflows define the permitted transitions between inventory states and specify which user roles are authorized to perform the transitions. The workflow of inventory states is defined at the level of material types. These workflows ensure controlled and traceable movement of inventory through various states, supporting compliance, quality assurance, and operational consistency.

To view and configure inventory state workflows, navigate to Configuration > Inventory > Inventory States > Workflow.

You can use these options on the Inventory State Workflow screen:

• Assign: Allows you to assign a transition to an inventory state workflow. You must select the material type associated with the transaction.
• Unassign: Allows you to unassign a transition from an inventory state workflow.
• Valid User Roles For State Change: Allows you to assign or unassign an user role to an inventory state workflow transition. The transition is permitted for all users if no user role is assigned.
