Tool Types

Tool Types define the properties and characteristics shared by a collection of tools, often those used in a specific manufacturing process. A tool can only belong to a single tool type.

To view and configure tool types, navigate to Configuration > Assets > Tool Types.

You can use these options on the Tool Types screen:

• Add: Allows you to create a new tool type.
• Edit: Allows you to modify the existing tool types.
• Delete: Allows you to delete the existing tool types.
• Retire: Allows you to retire the existing tool types. You cannot use retired tool types in production.
• Tools: Allows you to view and configure tools within the tool types.
• Change Reasons: Allows you to view and configure tool change reasons for the tool types.
• Reasons: Allows you to view and configure cavity state reasons for the tool types.
