Adding a meter
- Select Configuration > Energy > Meters. The Meters screen is displayed.
- Click Add. The Add window is displayed.
- Specify this information:
- Plant
- The manufacturing plant in which the meter is located.
- Meter

The name of the meter. The meter name must be unique across all plants within the solution.
- Type
- The type of energy measured by the meter. See, Meter types.
- Category
- The category of the meter.
- Stopped State Machine

The machine that provides a downtime signal to determine the stopped state of the meter. For example, if the energy consumption is expected to be in the Off, Stopped or Running state. See, Meter Specs.
- Cost Centre
- The cost centre to which energy costs are charged.
- Frequency

The frequency for collecting meter readings. Possible values:
- Automatic: Readings are recorded automatically through OPC. See, Adding a meter OPC item.
- Day: Readings are recorded manually every day.
- Week: Readings are recorded manually every week.
- Month: Readings are recorded manually every month.
- Year: Readings are recorded manually every year.
- Main Meter
- If this check box is selected, the selected meter is considered as the main chargeable meter and is used by the energy suppliers for billing purposes when charging for energy.
- Click OK.
