Adding a meter

  1. Select Configuration > Energy > Meters. The Meters screen is displayed.
  2. Click Add. The Add window is displayed.
  3. Specify this information:
    Plant
    The manufacturing plant in which the meter is located.
    Meter

    The name of the meter. The meter name must be unique across all plants within the solution.

    Type
    The type of energy measured by the meter. See, Meter types.
    Category
    The category of the meter.
    Stopped State Machine

    The machine that provides a downtime signal to determine the stopped state of the meter. For example, if the energy consumption is expected to be in the Off, Stopped or Running state. See, Meter Specs.

    Cost Centre
    The cost centre to which energy costs are charged.
    Frequency

    The frequency for collecting meter readings. Possible values:

    • Automatic: Readings are recorded automatically through OPC. See, Adding a meter OPC item.
    • Day: Readings are recorded manually every day.
    • Week: Readings are recorded manually every week.
    • Month: Readings are recorded manually every month.
    • Year: Readings are recorded manually every year.
    Main Meter
    If this check box is selected, the selected meter is considered as the main chargeable meter and is used by the energy suppliers for billing purposes when charging for energy.
  4. Click OK.
