Adding a BOM item
- Select . The Material Types screen is displayed.
- Select a record and click Materials. The Materials screen is displayed.
- Select a record and click BOM Variants. The BOM Variants screen is displayed.
- Select a record and click BOM Items. The BOM Items screen is displayed.
- Click Add. The Add window is displayed.
- Specify this information:

Type
-
The type of the BOM item. Possible values:
- Material: A component material to consume.
- Alternative Material: A component material to consume that serves as an alternative to the standard BOM item.
- Instructions: An instruction to follow.

Sub Material Type

The type of material of the BOM item.

Material
-
The material of the BOM item.

Quantity
-
The quantity of the BOM item. For example, a quantity of 4 wheels is required to assemble 1 car, or a quantity of 0.2 grams of caster sugar is required to make 1 gram of cake.

Unit
-
The unit of measurement used to express quantity.

Lower Tolerance %
-
The minimum allowable tolerance on the consumed quantity, expressed as a percentage (with a value range between 0 and 1) of the total created quantity.

Upper Tolerance %
-
The maximum allowable tolerance on the consumed quantity, expressed as a percentage (with a value range between 0 and 1) of the total created quantity.

Exceed Quantity
-
If this check box is selected, the consumption quantity of sub-material can exceed the nominal quantity.

Inventory Pack Traceability
-
The traceability of the inventory pack for the BOM item. See, Inventory Pack Traceability.

Sequence
-
The order of the BOM item within the BOM variant.

Routing Operation Code
-
The code for the routing operation where this BOM item needs to be consumed.

Is By-Product
-
If this check box is selected, the BOM item indicates a By-Product instead of a consumable material.
