Triggering on periods

Triggering maintenance based on periods is common amongst many manufacturers and ensures the required maintenance is scheduled and performed at consistent intervals.

It is possible to trigger maintenance using the following types of periods:

  • Seconds
  • Minutes
  • Hours
  • Days
  • Weeks
  • Months
  • Quarters
  • Years

The scheduling process in Infor MES is straightforward and managed by a background service. Once a start date is set, maintenance work is scheduled automatically based on the defined interval.

Example

This example shows the timeline for scheduled maintenance starting on the first of the months and based on periods for the following:

  • Asset 1 is scheduled with a frequency of 3 days. The system schedules maintenance work for the 3rd, 6th, 9th, 12th and so on.
  • Asset 2 is scheduled with a frequency of 5 days. The system schedules maintenance work for the 5th, 10th, 15th and so on.
  • Asset 3 is scheduled with a frequency of 1 week. The system schedules maintenance work for the 7th, 14th, 21st and so on.
