Triggering on events
Event-based maintenance relies on specific events occurring in the system and can be difficult to predict in advance . Each factory may require unique events to trigger maintenance. Therefore, although Infor MES supports event-based maintenance, it requires additional configuration and implementation by the Infor project team or Infor partners. If needed, please discuss this with your Infor contact.
Like counter-based scheduling, event-based scheduling uses an estimated number of events per day to create an initial forecast. For example, if you estimate 0.1 events per day, the system assumes one event will occur every 10 days.
The system always projects the maintenance schedule at least 30 days into the future. However, the actual maintenance work is only triggered when the defined event occurs, ensuring that scheduling remains flexible and responsive to real conditions. This is so the work is not shown in the immediate schedule and operators do not see the work to do until it is actually due.
