Nested maintenance procedures

When you define a maintenance procedure, you can specify that this procedure contains other nested procedures.

To allow other procedures to be nested within this procedure, the root asset must be specified. This is the asset that the procedure relates to, nested procedures must relate to this asset, or sub-assets of this asset. It is not possible to define a generic nested procedure for an asset material, it must be defined for a single asset.

When the engineer performs the maintenance procedure, any steps in the nested maintenance procedure are also displayed to the engineer when performing the maintenance order. Any normal steps for the procedure and any nested steps are interlaced together, the engineer just sees a single list of steps.

Documents

These documents can be attached to maintenance procedures to provide additional information to the engineers:

  • Instructions
  • Videos
  • Images
  • Documents

MES makes these documents available to the engineers and operators when the Maintenance Procedure is being executed.

MES also makes documents that are linked directly to the Asset available to engineers and operators, such as the Asset manual provided from the supplier.
