Material configuration

These are the typical configuration requirements of maintenance materials in MES:

Material class

Maintenance materials must use the class 'Maintenance and repair parts'. This classification distinguishes them from production materials.

Material type

All maintenance materials must belong to a valid material type for classification and reporting.

Material cost

Each material has a cost value that may change over time. The cost at the time of use is recorded and contributes to budget tracking.
