Maintenance work types
These are typical types of maintenance work:
- Planned
- Scheduled by planners for execution by maintenance engineers. Typically follows a defined projection or maintenance plan.
- Event
- MES can detect when certain events have occurred, based on data captured directly in MES. For example, the results of quality checks, status of an inventory pack, or the amount of scrap created.
- Autonomous
- Operator-driven maintenance focused on daily checks and minor upkeep. Helps prevent equipment failure through early intervention.
- Request
- Initiated when a fault or issue is detected. Requests may be raised by system users or automatically triggered by downtime events.
- Project
- Major maintenance activities like overhauls, installations, or significant modifications to equipment or lines.
- Improvement
- Work designed to enhance performance or efficiency, such as installing sensors or upgrading parts.
