Outbound orders
An outbound order is an order for a customer for a quantity of one or more materials.
The quantity can be satisfied by multiple outbound shipments.
Each requested material is represented by an order item.
The status of orders can be tracked and includes:
- Planned
- The order has been created but no activity has started.
- In progress
- Shipments have started against the order.
- Complete
- The order has been fully shipped.
- Canceled
- The order is no longer active.
The timeframe for fulfillment of the order can be mapped using raised and planned dates.
Outbound orders are often created via an interface from an ERP system.
