Outbound shipments
MES tracks shipments of material supplied from the factory to the customer.
A shipment defines the customer and location to ship to, the planned warehouse of shipment, and the expected delivery date.
The shipment can have one of these statuses:
- Planned
- Waiting to be picked for shipping.
- In progress
- Inventory is currently being picked.
- Complete
- The order has been shipped.
- Canceled
- The shipment was canceled and is no longer active.
- On hold
- The inventory requires action before shipment can proceed.
Additional fields such as a transport identifier or customer reference numbers are available on the delivery record.
Shipped items describe the total expected quantity of each material.
If known, inventory packs can be recorded against each delivery item — either planned or tracked as picked.
Shipments can be linked to outbound orders to track fulfillment progress.
When shipping the order, the operator scans each pack. Once scanned and loaded, the pack is marked as shipped and removed from stock.
You can create shipments through your ERP interface or manually in MES.
