Replenishment and movement requests

A movement request is a system-generated or manual instruction to move material from one location to another within the warehouse or production environment.

Movement requests in MES are used to ensure that materials are available at the correct locations to support production or logistics activities.

Each request typically includes this information:

  • Source location
  • Destination location
  • Material and quantity to be moved
  • Reference to the associated order or process

Movement requests can be created manually by operators or supervisors, or automatically triggered based on defined conditions, such as low inventory, production demand, or integration with an ERP.:

The request may be fulfilled by a human operator, an automated system, or both.
