Meter items
Each meter item defines the type and structure of data collected from a meter in MES. These items affect how energy consumption and rate are interpreted and reported.
- Meter item
- A unique name assigned to a specific reading channel on a meter. Multiple meters can share the same item name.
- Collection unit
- The unit in which the meter reading is physically collected, such as m3 or kWh.
- Unit
- The unit used for displaying values in reports. A conversion factor is applied if different from the collection unit.
- Virtual meter item
- Indicates whether the item value is calculated rather than measured directly. These can be included or excluded from reports.
Energy status defines the expected level of energy consumption based on a machine's current operational state. If a meter is linked to a stopped state machine, the system uses production and machine states to determine energy status:
- Running: The machine is executing a production order
- Stopped: The machine is down while executing a production order
- Off: The machine is not executing a production order
If no stopped state machine is linked, the energy status is recorded as [None]. Energy statuses can also be refined by specific stop reasons.
