Meter specifications
Specifications define expected energy usage ranges for meter items. These thresholds are used to monitor consumption and trigger alerts if usage exceeds expected limits.
MES tracks the following information for a meter specification:
- Energy status
- The level of energy usage that the specification applies to
- Upper spec (USL) / lower spec (LSL)
- The upper and lower limits for energy usage
- Warning upper spec / warning lower spec
- Limits used to alert when energy usage approaches the specification thresholds
- Nominal
- The expected or target level of energy usage
- Decimal places
- The number of decimal places used when recording meter readings
- Comments
- A required comment when a meter specification is changed, for traceability
Meter specifications can be revised over time as energy performance goals or operational conditions change.
