Meter readings
Meter readings capture energy usage either as total consumption over time or as a rate at a specific point in time.
Consumption readings reflect the total amount of energy used since the last recorded value. Meters usually record a running total, and MES calculates the delta between the previous and current reading. This delta can be manually overridden if required in a case where a misread needs correction.
Rate readings reflect the instantaneous energy usage. When consumption readings are recorded automatically at regular intervals, the system can calculate rate by applying a multiplier based on the reading frequency.
For example, if consumption is recorded every 20 minutes, multiplying the reading by 3 gives a rate per hour.
