Asset state flags

Asset states are user-defined, but MES uses configuration flags to determine how each state should be interpreted. Common states include:

Available
The asset is in working condition and ready to be used
End of life
The asset should no longer be used due to reaching its life expectancy
In toolpack
The asset is currently assembled into a toolpack
In use
The asset is actively being used in production
Requires cleaning
The asset must be cleaned before it can be reused
Requires maintenance
The asset has been flagged for maintenance work
Requires inspection
The asset must be inspected to confirm it meets operational standards
Requires repair
The asset is damaged and must be repaired before further use

MES provides a standard set of states using these flags and allows customers to define additional states as needed. Each new state must be configured with appropriate flags so the system knows how to respond to it.
