Asset state changes
MES can automatically or manually update an asset's state based
on specific events. This enables the system to reflect real-world asset usage and conditions
without requiring constant manual updates.
Here are some examples of automatic state changes:
- Available
- When an inspection is completed without specification violations, maintenance is finished, the asset is cleaned, or disassembled from a toolpack
- In use
- When a tool is loaded into a machine
- Requires inspection
- When MES detects that the asset needs inspection
- End of life
- When the number of pieces produced by the asset exceeds its end-of-life threshold
- Requires maintenance
- When outstanding maintenance work exists for the asset
- In toolpack
- When a tool is assembled into a toolpack
These transitions help automate maintenance planning and improve responsiveness to asset conditions.
