Complete pack

This is when an inventory pack is classed as created when it has physically been completed and with all relevant information provided, in a single transaction.

This is the information that is typically provided for the inventory pack:

Data Description

Inventory pack number

This is either provided by the user or generated automatically by MES.

Created from date

Inventory packs are created over a duration.

The created from date is assumed to be the created to date of the previous pack, if there are no gaps in production.

If there is no previous pack, then it is assumed to be the start of the production run.

Created to date

The date the pack was completed.

Material

The material of the inventory pack.

Machine

The specific machine that is creating the inventory pack.

Position

The specific position on the machine that is creating the inventory pack.

This is only relevant when inventory positions are configured.

Quantity

The final quantity of the inventory pack after completion..

Unit

The unit used for the quantity.

State

The state of the inventory pack after completion.

Location

The location of the inventory pack after completion.

End production run

Option to automatically end the production run after completion.

When a new pack is created, MES looks back to find the previous pack created at this position and assumes that was when the current pack started:

If this is the first pack for the production run, then MES looks back to the production run start:

When a new pack is created, the state of the pack is defined. This state could be, for example, created, isolated, or scrapped. The status before the inventory pack is created is any valid state, for example created, isolated, or scrapped. The status of the pack before it was completed is in progress.

Note: This mode is typically used in discrete processes.
