Label printing

When inventory packs are created they have the unique identifier assigned. Best practice is to label them at the point of creation.

The Infor MES label printing functionality allows templates to be defined, then populated and printed on demand. This is most commonly used for inventory label printing, but can also be used to print other documents, such as:

  • Delivery notes
  • Certificates of analysis
  • Other formatted reports

MES uses the template and populates the relevant data on demand when printed. Barcode and 2D barcodes are supported when label printing.

Barcode labels are typically printed when receiving or creating inventory. The barcode is then scanned as the inventory moves through the factory to track its progress.

MES label printing integrates with Bartender for printing and label design. When a label is printed, it is typical to also send a message to ERP to keep the stock aligned.
