Inventory positions

Inventory positions are configured per machine.

There are two types of inventory position:

• In: Related to the inventory being consumed into the machine
• Out: Related to the inventory being created by the machine.

Positions are used for one of two reasons:

• The physical equipment has multiple specific places where inventory can be consumed into, or created from.
• Positions are used to allow multiple inventory packs to be consumed or created concurrently.
  Note: As standard MES allows multiple inventory packs to be consumed or created concurrently, but there are some more advanced circumstances where inventory positions need to be configured to give greater flexibility.
