Use by and use after dates

You can use Infor MES to track the use by and use after dates of materials that can either expire after a period time or that must be aged for a period of time before they can be consumed or shipped.

Use by date

The use by date duration is specified against the material. When inventory of that material is created, the use by date is set.

Note: If you attempt to use material after the specified use-by date, a confirmation message is displayed. When you click OK, the application triggers an alarm to notify the exception.

Use after date

The use after date duration is specified against the material. When inventory of that material is created, the use after date is set.

Note: If you attempt to use material before the specified use-after date, a confirmation message is displayed. When you click OK, the application triggers an alarm to notify the exception.
