Process type options

Infor MES is configurable across many manufacturing processes and can handle multiple scenarios without customization.

Here are some examples:

  • Normal production (one product output), co-production, and by-products
  • Raw materials, semi-finished goods, intermediate goods, and finished goods
  • Bulk, batch, repetitive, discrete, and single piece flow production

MES enables you to companies to configure it to match specific processes. So, as part of building an MES solution, the solution builder must look at each manufacturing process from raw materials through to finished goods.

Two key drivers affect the MES configuration:

  • The physical nature of the manufacturing process and the way materials are input to, and output from the process.
  • The way that ERP is configured in terms of the level of granularity.
