M3 logic for autogenerated package numbers in packing functions.

Background:

There is a need to use M3 logic for autogenerated package numbers in the packing functions.

When license plate mask is set to *AUTO*, the package number is taken from the MHS850 message number series. This number series is not intended to be used for packages and cannot be controlled like the regular package number series in M3.

M3 package number logic is controlled by parameter 260 (Package number method) on the dispatch policy in MWS010. The package number can come from a number series, be sequential starting with 1 for each new delivery, or come from a number formatting rule.

Solution:

Reporting a pick/pack transaction with package number field set to "Auto Create" on the detail screen now uses M3 logic for the automatically assigned package number.

Existing parameter:

• ID n: License Plate Mask

New parameter:

• ID n: Use M3 logic for autogenerated package number

Limitation:

Only applicable for packing using the APD screen (advanced pick detail).
