Error Code

These codes refer to a predefined error cause. Error codes are created and defined in program 'Error Cause. Open' (SOS411). They can be defined generally or specifically to a certain individual item, individual item group or item.

Error codes are used to keep statistics which facilitate follow-up.

Description

Assume a customer reports that the brakes are faulty. Code BR001 is then specified for the service order assignment. This code is predefined as Worn brake lining in program 'Error Cause. Open' (SOS411).

The error code is stored in the service order assignment and service order lines. It is transferred along with these to standard statistics and individual item statistics during service order invoicing. In this way, error codes appearing more frequently can be detected and acted on earlier.
