Install operational unit in a plant maintenance site

Use this document to understand how to install an operational unit with its own as-built structure into a site, such as a factory or mine, for plant maintenance.

Use this process when you need visibility of your mobile equipment at your site.

Outcome

The operational unit or mobile equipment is visible in the site structure 'Model/Site. Browse' (MOS446). In (MOS446), related option 50='Equipment Information' shows relation option 39='As-built Structure'. This relation indicates that the equipment has an as-built structure in 'As-Built Structure. Open' (MOS256).

Before you start

Verify these settings before you start:
  • An operational unit exists with its own as-built structure in 'As-Built Structure. Open' (MOS256).
  • Define a Mobile Equipment position at the site where no planning position exists above it in the structure. You must not flag this position as a planning position or as the highest position in the structure.

Follow these steps

These steps outline Alternative 1:

Install the operational unit into the site in the Mobile Equipment position created above through 'As-Built Structure. Update Remove/Install' (MOS125).
  • The operational unit is displayed in (MOS446).
  • The operational unit exists under the site in 'As-Built List. Display' (MOS253). See table MROABL.
  • The operational unit exists under the site in 'Serialized Item. Display Install History' (MOS266). See table MROUHI.
  • The site is the highest position in the structure for work requests and work orders related to the operational unit.
These steps outline Alternative 2:
  • Install the operational unit into the site in the Mobile Equipment position created above through 'Model/Site. Open Config Structure' (MOS445).
  • The operational unit is displayed in (MOS446).
  • The operation unit is displayed in the 'Next item no', 'Next S/N', and 'Reg no/site' fields on work orders and work requests.
  • No other links are created in other programs.
