Generate Work Request Manually - Quick Entry
This document explains how you generate a standard work request for general maintenance work.
Use this instruction when you want to propose maintenance work that does not have to be performed right away. Quick entry offers a faster entry of the work request, but does not give access to all fields available in the standard entry method.
Outcome
A work request is created specifying the work to be performed on a specific machine or position.
Uses
The work request is displayed in 'Work Request. Open' (MOS170) where it can be estimated, replanned, and released to become a work order in 'Work Order. Open' (MOS100).
The operations can be viewed and modified in 'Work Request. Open Toolbox' (MOS197), where the work request can also be released to (MOS100).
When you replan a work request, you can do the following:
- Add new operations and change existing ones
- Add new spare parts and purchase requirements and change existing ones
- Add specific tools and change existing ones
- Check the capacity and allocate employees.
How the System Is Affected
Information about the work request is stored in the following tables:
- Planning proposal maintenance (MWOPLP)
- Text header (MSYTXH)
- Text line (MSYTXL)
- Planned maintenance order (BMOOPO)
- Sequence number (BSQNUM).
Before you start
- A service must exist in 'Service. Open' (MOS300). The service must have at least status 20 and should use a planning policy with parameter 005 set to 10.
- A serialized item/equipment must be defined in 'Equipment/Serialized Item. Open' (MMS240) if the work request is defined for equipment.
- A position must be defined in 'Model/Site. Connect Position' (MOS440) if the work request is to be defined for a position.
- If 'Approved by' is specified, this user must be defined in 'User. Open' (MNS150).
- The parameters for 'Work Request. Quick Entry' (MOS185) should be set.
Follow These Steps
Create New Work Request
-
Start 'Work Request. Quick Entry' (MOS185/E).
-
Enter a site to use and a default service (optional fields).
A site can only be entered when no site is proposed by default.
A service might be proposed by default, but it can be changed.
-
Enter an equipment code or a position code. Set the equipment/position flag accordingly.
The default value of the flag is always the same as the user's last setting.
-
Enter a failure class, if applicable.
-
Enter a description and an optional text.
-
Enter the requester, the person responsible for the planning, and the person who needs to approve the work request, if applicable.
The current user can be automatically proposed as the requestor, depending on the settings on panel P.
The responsible person is automatically retrieved from 'Equipment/Serialized Item. Open' (MMS240) or 'Model/Site. Connect Position' (MOS440).
If no approver is entered, the approver is automatically retrieved from 'Work Order Authorization. Open' (MOS175).
-
Enter a work center, if applicable.
If a work center is not entered, the 'Override work center assignment' field for the service in (MOS300) controls which work center is retrieved.
-
Enter the ID of the employee who should carry out the work, if applicable.
Note that if this is done and no work center is entered manually, the work center for the employee in (CRS530) is to be retrieved.
If entering an employee, an operation element with operation element type 2 is created for all the operations included in the work request, with the entered employee assigned to the operations.
-
Enter a priority and a transaction reason (optional fields).
The priority is set in one of the following ways. If parameter 360 in 'Work Order Type. Open' (MOS120) is greater than 0, this value is used. If parameter 360 is set to 0, the priority on the serialized item/equipment in 'Equipment/Serialized Item. Open' (MMS240) is used.
-
Enter a reference order number and a project number (optional fields).
If the reference order category is 0, the field may also contain the work scope.
-
Enter an estimated downtime, if applicable.
-
Specify whether the equipment needs to be shut down for the work to be carried out and a request budget. Press Enter to finish.
If the product is attribute-managed, Attribute Value. Connect To (ATS101) is displayed after you complete the last step. If no attribute value changes are needed, you can close the screen.
Depending on your service definition and attribute selection, you can create related services. To enable the check of related services based on attribute values, activate parameter 198 on the work order type in (MOS120).
