Defining Basic Settings for Maintenance Statistics

This document explains how you define the settings that are needed to run the maintenance statistics. This includes how to set up the system for costing calculations, and how to define views and sorting orders.

Outcome

The rules for how maintenance statistics are to be generated and displayed are defined.

The settings are used by the system when you generate maintenance statistics. You will also be able to view statistics that are of interest to you.

For more information about how the sytem is affected, refer to the documents listed in the See Also section.

Before you start

There are no specific starting conditions for this process.

Follow These Steps

  1. Define Cost Totals

Define total costs that are to be considered when planned and actual costs are calculated. The total cost comprises a number of costing elements. You can define any number of costing totals, and up to six of these can be used in 'Settings - Maintenance Statistics' (MCS390).

Define the cost totals in 'Maintenance Cost Total. Open' (MCS395).

  2. Define Settings for Maintenance Statistics

Define the settings for maintenance statistics in 'Settings - Maintenance Statistics' (MCS390). When you define these settings, you specify for how long statistics are to be stored, what cost elements should be used in the calculations, from what period statistics should be created, how the generated statistics should be displayed, etc.

  3. Define Views

You must define views. You do this to define what information should be displayed in the different statistics programs. The views are mandatory and control the information that is displayed on the B panel in the display programs.

    Define views in:

    • (MCS311) for 'WO Statistics. Display' (MCS310)
    • (MCS316) for 'WO Statistics. Display Average' (MCS315)
    • (MCS334) for 'WO Operation Stats. Display' (MCS333)
    • (MCS337) for 'WO Operation Stats. Display Average' (MCS336)
    • (MCS344) for 'WO Material Stats. Display' (MCS343)
    • (MCS347) for 'WO Material Stats. Display Average' (MCS346)
    • (MCS351) for 'Work Center Statistics WO. Display' (MCS350)
    • (MCS421) for 'Equipment Statistics. Display' (MCS420)
    • (MCS421) for 'Maint Stats. Display/Sorting order' (MCS430).
  4. Define Sorting orders

Sorting orders must be defined for 'Maint Stats. Display/Sorting order' (MCS430). These will allow you to sort the information dynamically per sorting order. Up to three inquiry fields can be defined per sorting order. These fields can carry information about, for example, equipment and position number, product number, service, work center, WO number and error codes.

You can also define selection criteria for each sorting order. This allows you to control how selections are made.

Define sorting orders in 'Sorting order - Maintenance Stats. Open' (MCS490).
