Troubleshooting

These are some of the usual problems encountered when using CPW.

Note: See KB2311067 - M3 CPW instructions and FAQ.

CPW is not available in the H5 menu

If CPW is not available in the H5 menu, verify if these requirements are met:

  • You must have the security role, M3CPW-User.
  • You must have a CPW role in (MNS410):
    • CPWPLANNER
    • CPWVIEWER
    • CPWADMIN

When changing the settings in the Tenant, restart the application to ensure that the changes are updated.

If CPW is still not available in the H5 menu, it is an environment issue.

Exporting to Excel for languages not in english

In CPW, the Export to Excel function creates a CSV file and opens it in Microsoft Excel. If you encounter issues with the formatting of special characters, you must update the Microsoft Excel settings.

  1. Export the CSV file.
  2. Open a blank workbook in Microsoft Excel.
  3. On the Data tab, import the CSV file then select From text/csv.
  4. Select the appropriate column delimiter during import. You can select comma or semicolon.
  5. Click Load.

The CSV file exported from CPW matches the settings in Microsoft Excel.

Load and capacity not displayed as expected

CPW displays the load and capacity based on the BE data used in (CPS100). When investigating the load and capacity, always start by displaying the same data in (CPS100).

  1. Verify the load and capacity in (CPS100) on a week or day level for each work center.

If load and capacity are not displayed in (CPS100), investigate (CPS100).

If load and capacity are displayed in (CPS100), use the CPW log file and investigate the values transferred from the API.

  2. Import the data to CPW and open the CPW log file.

From the menu, selectActions > User Settings > Write details to log file to save all details in the log file.

If the log file is too large to review directly in the application, you can copy the text to an external text file. Then, analyze the data in the editor.

  3. Search for the API transferring data from BE to CPW and investigate if the values transferred by the API correspond to the values in (CPS100).

If the values in (CPS100) and the API match, copy the log file to an external text file, then attach it to the Infor Customer Portal incident. You can also take a screenshot of the values not displayed as expected. This helps in the investigation of the values transferred to CPW and the values displayed in CPW.

Note: CPW capacity and load are based on the data displayed in (CPS100). The (CPS100) data is stored in BE tables and retrieved by CPW using CPS100MI/SelTotalLoad, CPS100MI/SelDetailedLoad, and PDS016MI/SelDailyCap for daily capacity. These APIs retrieve data from the tables behind (CPS100). (PDS960) can recreate the capacity displayed in (CPS100). (CPS990) can recreate the load displayed in (CPS100).

Errors and warnings in the log file

If the log file contains errors or warnings, the user must investigate.
