Manage Work Breakdown Structure
Manage Work Breakdown Structure is an Experience Designer application and one of several applications that replace the Project Portal mashup.
The Manage Work Breakdown Structure application streamlines project structure management, enhances visibility, and improves control of project elements, supporting efficient project execution within the M3 Business Engine ecosystem.
The primary purpose of the application is to provide users with a centralized, interactive interface to:
- View and manage the hierarchical work breakdown structure for each project, including moving, inserting, or updating elements.
- Access detailed information about each work breakdown structure element, such as scheduling, templates, and project-specific data.
- Integrate with other M3 applications through links and bookmarks for related tasks, such as project checklists, scheduling, and invoice plans.
M3 Business Engine Configuration
M3 Project Management is required to run the Manage Work Breakdown Structure application.

Application authorization
To access and run the Experience Designer application, you must be authorized to the M3 Business Engine functions and API transactions used by the application.

How to use the application
You can use the application as a standalone option by searching for a project and selecting a project in the index list, or you can open the application from another application.
When you open the application from another application, the selected project number in the first application is set as the default in the IndexList in the Manage Work Breakdown Structure application.
The DataGrid lists the work breakdown structure for the selected project in the IndexList. You can move an element or insert a new element. Select the record, then move or insert the element before, under, or after the selected record.
On the Element Details tab, you can update the parameters for each element in the structure.
