Create Item Distribution

The purpose of this procedure is to assign items/warehouses to forecast families based on demand history. This can be used as a basis for demand distributions for item/warehouses used when forecasting is done from forecast families.

Before you start

To start this procedure the following prerequisites must be met:

Forecast families must be entered as described in the procedure Create Forecast Family.
Forecast family structures must be entered as described in the procedure Create Forecast Family Structure.
To be able to use demand history, a forecast method with specified demand type must be entered for each item/warehouse included in the forecast families used.
Demand history per included item/warehouse must be created for the period range covered by the calculation.

Follow these steps

Follow the steps below to create an item distribution for forecasting calculations.

Select 'Forecast Family. Create Historical Share' (FCS405/E).
Specify the forecast families to include in the calculation and the period range from which the demand history should be retrieved.
To start the calculation, press Enter.

Output

Item distributions for every forecast family included in the run are calculated after using this procedure. The results from these calculations are saved in the respective forecast family’s structure.
