Defining Manufacturing Resource Constraints for M3 SCP
This document explains how you define manufacturing resource constraints to be used within the integrated supply chain planning model in M3 SCP.
Outcome
A resource requirements profile for SCP is created. This profile contains information about resource and material usage.
The resource requirements profile is used within the integrated supply chain planning model in SCP.
For information about which M3 tables are updated, refer to the individual documents listed in the See Also section.
Before you start
For information about specific starting conditions, refer to the individual documents listed in the See Also section.
Follow These Steps
-
Generate Resource Requirements Profile for SCP
Resource requirements profiles can be created automatically in 'Resource Requirements Profile. Create' (RCS300). This program contains parameters that enable you to also generate resource structures and aggregated bills of material. Profiles are created per SCP item group or item number, depending on which aggregation level you have selected.
-
Create Resource Requirements Profile for SCP
You can create resource requirements profiles manually in 'Resource Requirements Profile. Open' (RCS030), where you can also view, change and/or update automatically generated profiles.
The profiles used in SCP must have an identity type of 1 (item number) or 5 (SCP item group).
-
Create Resource Structure
You connect rough-cut capacity planning (RCCP) resources to the resource requirements profile in 'Resource Structure. Open' (RCS031). These resources must have resource type 4 set in 'Work Center. Open' (PDS010).
-
Create RCCP Material
You can connect items or included SCP item groups to the resource requirements profiles in 'RCCP Materials. Open' (RCS032). Included SCP item groups and their lead time offsets are connected to the profile if identity type 5 has been selected in 'Resource Requirements Profile. Open' (RCS030). If identity type 1 has been selected, then item numbers are connected to the profile.
