Node
Definition
A node is a physical entity in a supply chain. Each node is regarded as a planning point.
Uses
Nodes are components in a physical network used within supply chain optimization in M3 Supply Chain Planner (SCP).
There are three different node categories:
- 1 = Purchase node: A supplier is connected to the node.
- 2 = Supply node: One or several warehouses within the same facility are connected to the node. A supply node is either a manufacturing plant or a distribution center.
- 3 = Sales node: Demand from datasets is connected to sales nodes.
There are four different node icon types that can be used to illustrate the nodes on the maps in SCP:
- 1 = Supplier
- 2 = Manufacturing plant
- 3 = Distribution center
- 4 = Market
