Rental Agreement Order Types

A rental agreement order type is the collective identity for several settings that regulates how the rental agreement is processed through the agreement flow. The rental agreement order type defines which checks are made and which information is retrieved by default when rental agreements are specified.

Functionality/checks that should not be used for a rental agreement order type must be deactivated. This enables an easier rental agreement processing and increases M3 performance.

Rental agreement order types are defined in 'Rental Agreement Order Type. Open' (STS020).

Relation between rental agreement order and distribution order

On (STS020/G) a DO type for deliveries and a DO type for returns are connected to the rental agreement order type.

There are rules for how a DO type must be configured if it is to be used for the creation of delivery DOs or return DOs connected to a rental agreement.

A delivery DO line and a return DO line is automatically created when a rental line is activated or when a rental line is added to an already active agreement. It is important to keep the correct relation between the rental agreement line and the DO lines. If updates are needed for an existing rental agreement line, it is important that the updates are done through the rental agreement and not directly on the DO or DO line. This is why some fields are locked from editing on a rental agreement DO.
