Leasing Charge

A leasing charge is an additional charge with record type L. You can manually add or update a leasing charge in 'Rental Agreement. Connect Additional Charge' (STS103) using related option 15='Addnl charges' in 'Rental Agreement. Open Lines' (STS201). It can also be automatically connected in (STS103) using attributes connected to the agreement line in 'Attribute Value. Connect to' (ATS101).

Leasing charges can also be created in EQM through 'Quotation. Add Miscellaneous Costs' (QUS118) by setting leasing method to 0-'Additional charge'. The leasing charges are then added to the quotation line either manually, by using related option 18='Add Miscellaneous' in 'Quotation. Open Lines' (QUS101), or automatically by activating Default record on (QUS118/E). If Default record is activated, the leasing charge is automatically added to the quotation line if a financing record type '3' or '4' is added. When the EQM quote is released and the rental agreement is created, the leasing charge is automatically connected in (STS103 ).

Note: If the attribute is updated using ATS101MI, this does not update additional charges in (STS103) automatically.

A leasing charge can only be removed if the leasing line is not yet delivered (if created through an attribute value) or invoicing has not yet started (if added manually).

To add or adjust a leasing charge is part of the agreement creation, but it can also be something that needs to be done during the lifetime of the agreement, if the agreement with the customer is changed in some way. It could be the price or the period length of the leasing charge that is renegotiated.

Before you start

  • Contract items to be used for the leasing charges must exist in 'Contract Item. Open' (SAS450).
  • If the leasing charge should be connected automatically to the leasing line, matching attribute values must exist in 'Attribute Model. Connect Attributes' (ATS051) through the attribute model in 'Attribute Model. Open' (ATS050) connected to the item in 'Item. Open' (MMS001).
  • To manually create, update, or delete a leasing charge, a leasing line must exist in (STS201).

Follow these steps

Follow these steps to automatically create a leasing charge through attributes:

  1. Ensure the item is set up for attribute handling in (MMS001) and that default attribute values are connected in (ATS051) through the correct attribute model and attribute ID.
  2. Ensure contract items to be used for the leasing charges exists in (SAS450) and that they are correctly configured. The contract item must have the same ID as the default attribute value connected to the attribute model, to trigger the automatic creation of the leasing charge. The contract item must also be configured to automatically trigger leasing charge using the setting 'Auto-create charge' in (SAS450).

The number of leasing charges automatically connected to the leasing line will be the same as the matching number of attributes.

  3. When the configuration is in place, you can create the leasing line.

When this has been done, you can view or change attributes connected to the leasing line in (ATS101), using related option 52='Attribute Values' on the leasing line in (STS201).

Leasing charges are automatically created matching the attribute configuration of this leasing line.

  4. You can view the leasing charges in (STS103) using related option 15='Addnl charges' in (STS201).

If the attribute value is changed in (ATS101) for the leasing line, the corresponding leasing charge is deleted and a new leasing charge is created, if there is a contract item matching the new attribute value.

  5. To view the leasing charge curve, open the charge and click 'Display' on (STS103/E). This opens 'Rental Charge Curve. Open' (STS111).

Follow these steps to manually create, update or remove a leasing charge:

Note: If price index is set on (STS103/E), you find more information in Price Index Functionality on Leasing Line and Update of Leasing Charge using Index Update in (LTS401) about how this field affects the curve created in (STS111).
  1. Open (STS201) for the rental agreement and select the leasing line where the leasing charge should be added or adjusted.
  2. Use related option 15='Addnl charges' to open (STS103) for the selected line.
  3. To add a leasing charge, select record type 'L' and the contract ID in (STS103). Use option 1=' Create' to create the leasing charge.

Specify the fields such as 'Period' and 'Price' and confirm on (STS103/E). This triggers a curve to be created in (STS111).

  4. To view the leasing charge curve, open the charge and click 'Display' on (STS103/E). This opens (STS111).
  5. If existing leasing charge should be updated, use option 2='Change' in (STS103).

When changes to the price or period is done for a leasing charge, a new curve is created with new periods calculated from the date of the change.

  6. To remove a leasing charge, use option 4='Delete'. A leasing charge can only be removed if leasing line is not yet delivered (if created through the attribute value) or invoicing has not yet started (if added manually).
