Create Material Budget from Product Structure

Before you start

To start this procedure, the following prerequisites must be met:

• A budget version is created.
• Budget items are selected for the material budget in 'Project Budget Item. Open' (POS035).
• A planned manufacturing order is entered in Project Management.
• If budget items in the project budget should be updated when a product with material is generated from the product structure, then budget item must be entered in the settings panel in either 'Material Budget Line. Open' (POS291) or 'Settings - Project Management' (CRS590).
• Configured products are costed.

Follow these steps

1. Start 'Project Budget. Open Lines' (POS111). Access the material budget in one of the following ways:

   • Press F17=Material plans, and all material lines that affect the budget are displayed.
   • Specify option 11 = Material lines for the budget element to process and press Enter. All the material lines that affect the budget element are displayed.
   • Specify option 11 = Material lines for the budget item to process and press Enter. All the material lines that affect the budget item are displayed. Budget items always belong to a budget element.

2. Press F14 = Generate structure/configuration. Products and material are retrieved to the material budget based on the planned orders entered in the project manufacturing activities.

3. If the products/material are connected to an acquisition activity and budget item, go to step 5.

4. Connect the material to both an acquisition activity and budget item, or connect the material to only a budget item that is already connected to an acquisition. In this way, the amount for the budget item in the project budget is updated.

5. Press Exit to return to (POS111).
