Where-Used Analysis

Where-used analyses are listings of how different components in a product structure are used. These components can be analyzed:

  • Material
  • Work Centers
  • Tools
  • Engineering Documents.

Before you start

This supporting function requires that for the products to be processed, materials and operations must be specified in 'Product. Connect Materials/Operations' (PDS002). For more information, see Creating a Product Structure.

Description

This supporting function includes display of different where-used analyses as described below:

All analyses included in this function are performed in 'Where-used Analysis. Display' (PDS110). Selection of the analysis is made using different sorting orders.

Bill of material analysis

  • Material analysis on all levels

Material analysis on all levels is a where-used analysis in which all products on the nearest level above the material are displayed. The where-used analysis can be carried out for any number of levels upwards in the product structure.

  • Material analysis on the highest level

Material analysis on the highest level is a where-used analysis used only to display products at the highest level. Any lower level semi-finished products are therefore not displayed.

Routing analysis

  • Work center analysis

Work center analysis displays all operations performed by the specified work center. Information regarding each operation is retrieved using option 5 = Display.

  • Tools analysis

Tools analysis displays information regarding those operations where the specified tool is used. Information regarding each operation is retrieved using option 5 = Display.

  • Engineering document analysis

This analysis displays information regarding those operations where the specified engineering document is used. Information regarding each operation is retrieved using option 5 = Display.
